Washington, D.C., April 3, 2006 - Citizens for Health held a press conference at the National Press Club on April 3rd at which we announced the filing of our Citizen Petition with the FDA (Docket No. 2006P-0158) calling on the Agency to revoke its approval of sucralose (Splenda) based on safety concerns.
Click above and call on the FDA to either revoke its approval of sucralose or immediately schedule a Public Hearing so the truth can be told. (A suggested letter is attached at the end of this story; feel free to edit it as you see fit).
Sucralose is a highly processed chemical sweetener factory-manufactured with chlorine in McIntosh, Alabama, that was approved by the FDA in April 1998 despite serious potential health concerns. In addition to the fact that not a single human clinical study has been done on the finished product (Splenda) despite hundreds of consumer health complaints posted on the Web, consumption of Splenda poses a risk to people (especially pregnant women) who have galactosemia (or the genetic trait for this disorder).
Submit your comments today in support of the Citizens for Health citizen petition (Docket No. 2006P-0158). (Use the suggested letter attached at the end of this story).
