Dr. Gonzalez has added his impressive medical credentials to our opposition of this bill, but the impact of all the petitions is important too since it is now referred to committee which will include more states being represented.

Arizona is one of the states that not only has a medical college that trains naturopaths but the state also licenses naturopaths so I suggested to the senator that if he is sincere in the safe use of supplements, he should back legislation that would encourage the major health care insurance companies (or at least Medicare) to include licensed naturopaths in their primary care coverage. Not only are these doctors trained in the use of supplements in preventive care which reduces the cost of medical care, but their inclusion would expand the supply of primary care physicians thought to be in short supply.
